Here is instructions for setting up the Built-in VPN Client on Microsoft Windows 7, depending on the theme you use in Windows 7 the windows may look a little different from the pictures below.
Open Network and Sharing Center
Start the Set up a new connection or network Wizard
Chose Connect to a workplace. Then click Next.
Click Use my Internet connection (VPN).
Type the vpn address and chose a appropriate name for your connection. Then click Next.
Type username and password and then click Connect to start the VPN connection.
The VPN connection will now try to set up the connection but it won’t be able to, Click Set up the connection anyway.
Open network and Sharing center again.
Click the Change adapter settings.
Right-click the newly created VPN-connection.
Choose Properties.
Click the Security tab. In the Typ of VPN choose Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec (L2TP/IPsec) and the Click Advanced settings.
Add the preshared key and click OK on both windows open.
In the Network meny, you can connect and disconnet your VPN connection.
